August 13 – October 3rd, 2010

August 18, 2010 – The Cape Breton Regional VANS exhibition titled Saturday Night/Sunday Morning: Wake Up to New Art features many of Cape Breton’s most well-known artists, including Roger Beaudry, Lori Secouler-Beaudry, Carolyn Ritchie Bedford, Kenny Boone, Lynn Ellis, Teena Marie Fancey, Celeste Friesen-Nikkel, Brian David Geary, Basma Kavanagh, Carol Kennedy, Gordon Kennedy, Diane Lewis, Patsy MacKinnon, Susan MacDonald, Catherine Moir, Onni Nordman, Bernard Siller and Jeff Wilson.

For this exhibition, exhibiting artists were asked to create works of art around the concept ‘Saturday Night/Sunday Morning’; the artists responded in a myriad of ways ranging from detailed, figurative explorations of ‘Saturday Night/Sunday Morning’ behavior, to abstracted renderings of the sacred and secular.

The exhibit runs August 13th to October 3rd, 2010 at Cape Breton University Art Gallery located at 1250 Grand Lake Road in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The gallery is open Monday to Friday 10am until 4pm.
