Mix and Match
Larry Conrad

Collage of memories recorded on canvas with oil – pet portaits, landscapes and abstracts. Larry Conrad is an artist living in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A graduate of the Art Instruction School in Minneapolis, Minnesota (1972-1976), Conrad has spent the majority of his artistic career focusing on pet portraits in oil, which garnered him much attention in the mid-70’s, but he also has created landscapes and abstracts. Conrad considers his several years of contact with watercolour artist June Olson and her family on the South Shore of Nova Scotia as fundamental to his artistic development. He has followed her advice to date, including words she shared with him three months prior to her death:

“Creative work must be shared with others… we live not for comfort but to bring our gifts to the table regardless of suffering.”

Conrad is currently selling serveral of his landscapes and enjoying nature – whether a tree, blade of grass or shadow on the ground.
