Arts Nova Scotia Grants to Individuals

The program supports the creation of new works by professional artists in all disciplines including fine crafts, literary, visual, media and performing arts. It also promotes a broad understanding and appreciation of art and artists through professional development, creation and presentation of work. Individual artists may submit one application per grant per deadline. To encourage equitable distribution of funds, artists can only receive one Creation Grant in a 12-month period. The award is presented annually by the Creative Nova Scotia Leadership Council to a community that demonstrates the value it places on the presence of arts and culture in community life. Funded from the Nova Scotia Arts Endowment Fund, the award carries a cash value of $10,000. The recipient is required to apply the award to continuing the integration of arts and culture within the community. VANS invites current gallery and group members to apply for our Open Grants program, which serves to encourage exhibition activities across the province.  Any gallery or group who is a current member of Visual Arts Nova Scotia is eligible to apply for up to $250 to assist with costs related to an exhibition. There are limited grants and all applications will be reviewed by the VANS Programming Committee and notified within 2 weeks. We do not prescribe how funds must…
