artist statement
I love images. I love colour. I love the journey. Sometimes I wade, other times I fly. The rest of the process I leave to the angels.
selected biography
Educated in London England at Hornsey College of Art, I graduated in 1975 with a BA Honours in Art and Design. I worked for the early part of my career as an Illustrator for publishing houses and newspapers. I also worked as a Scientific Illustrator for The National Museums of Canada and Agriculture Canada producing a huge body of work that is now hidden away inside book jackets waiting to be discovered by enthusiastic botanists and biologists. After my children were born I started working exclusively as a fine artist. Since 1992 my paintings have been shown and collected in the United States and Canada, my portraits have been commissioned by Corporations, Celebrities and for personal collections.

Dear Val, I have been trying to find you and without a picture of you I think I have the right Val Fulford. Who else would use the comment ” I leave the rest to angels”. So like the phrase “angels can fly because they take themselves so lightly”. If it is the real you could you e-mail me back? Sincerely Joanne Morden [Green Gables]
Beautiful paintings, beautiful sentiment
and Joanne thank you for the angel phrase, lol
Dear Val,
I have been searching for you for a few years, about five years ago you were written up in an art magazine I found in a cabin I rented in Haliburton while taking a course, so I hope to hear back from you. As you know I have a beautiful portrait that you did of me and Simon which sits proudly on the wall of my little retirement home in Owen Sound. Your work is truly beautiful, I would love to see some in person.
Blessings and warm memories,
Denise Freeman
