artist statement
The diversity of my work reflects my curiousity and my love for experimentation. I work in different mediums, different techniques and represent different subjects. It could be realistic, more abstract or whimsical. In some of my paintings I explore vibrant colors and the vitality of lines. At other times I work in 3D with paper mache and mixed media. My inspiration comes from my love of nature.
selected biography
Marie-Christine Delanée was born in France where she lived half of her life on the shore of Normandie. She describes herself more as a self-taught artist because she received a formal education (BFA and BAE) well after she had been painting and drawing for a living for 7 years on the North Shore of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec. She participated 3 years at the National Festival of Watercolour in Montréal and also exhibited her work in France, Montréal and Québec. She lives now in Nova Scotia and teaches art from primary to grade 12 and other subjects in a little francophone school on the South Shore.
