artist statement
To re-kindle romanticism.
selected biography
Francis Moyer studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia (1959-1961) and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York in 1975 . During his studies, he focused on classical drawing and painting, developing the technique of chiaroscuro.
Moyer has taught in the greater New York area, as well as in Canada. He has shown his work in Philadelphia, Pa., New York and surrounding areas, Paris, France, Vancouver, Halifax, Lunenburg and his hometown of Chester. He currently shows in Zwickers Gallery in Halifax. Francis currently paints seascapes, landscapes and still life. Commissions welcome.
