Colleen McKee

Artist Statement

My subject matter comes mostly from the area around our oceanfront property on the Northumberland Strait, landscapes/seascapes, flowers, bugs, birds and animals.  I am interested in nature and concerned about the environment.  While looking at my work I hope the viewer will also be moved by these concerns.

Using acrylic, oil and watercolour, my work is mainly representational although I have completed a few abstract paintings.  I hope to explore this mode of expression in greater depth while continuing to draw on the natural world as my subject.
