Artist Statement:
I see . . .
i am – a “Swamp Indian” – with no status
i am – a son – and a husband – and a father
i am – an artist – a thirsting to express
i am – a painting . . . painting a painter
i am – a sculpture . . . sculpting a sculptor
I strive – to create, and re-create, an impression
I thrive – on the untamed aspect of watercolor
give me a seascape, give me more
i give you a seascape, and give you more
I sail the sea, i walk the land
I paint from life, i sculpt from dream
I draw words . . . if they help . . .
I listen . . . . . . i . . . try to honour . . .
the Great Spirit . . . the talking wind …. . . .
a picture . . . is a thousand words
Selected Biography:
Cam Albright is a painter and a sculptor. He was born at Fish Point, Freeport, Nova Scotia, on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, to an Island culture. He studied at N.S.C.A.D and under Cluny Mahar, but was mostly self taught in art ”…while observing the art of living”. Fortunate to find love, family, adventure, and travel while still (relatively) young. He volunteered, with his wife and children, onboard a Hospital Ship for 5 years, primarily in West Africa. Returned to Granville Ferry, N.S. in 1991, and renewed his focus on painting and sculpting. He has had numerous solo shows at Arts Place (A.R.A.C.) in Annapolis Royal. Currently he spends his summers in N.S. and winters in the Bahamas with his lovely wife, Janis — sailing, painting, sculpting, . . . adventuring.

Wonderful!
This describes you to a tee, Cam.
We always love to see your work.
Cant wait to see your additions this year.
I love it!!
‘Saint Peter’s ‘ is my favourite lighthouse ! The Lady of the Deep looks lovely. Is the sculpture in your private collection ?
Hi Cindy, I appreciate your comments on my E-Studio page. I enjoy painting lighthouse scenes. Re your question on the sculpture “Lady of the Deep”, I make limited edition castings, so the first one is in my private collection and others are for sale.
Thanks for your interest,
Cam
Hello Mr. Albright. I have tried to contact you via the phone and I am guessing you are in the Bahamas for the winter.
I was wonder if I could imposition you with a favour. I have an original carefully reproduced and mounted charcoal drawing of yours. It is mounted on hand carved pine with natural woodgrain highlighted by burning hand made in Nova Scotia by Albright arts n’ crafts. It is a black and white drawing of a fisherman in his dory pulling a lobster trap from the water and is signed. I was wondering if you could give me a ball park figure for how much it is worth? Someone is wanting to buy it and while I would like to give them a bargain, I don’t want to give it away.
If you could take time out of what I am sure a busy schedule and email me, I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you in advance,
Theresa.
Hi Theresa, Yes, just got back from Bahamas. The charcoal reproduction goes back about 40 yrs. I’m not dead or famous yet ; ) so I would be pleasantly surprised if its value has increased. I do still have the 16″X20″ original, if you or friends are interested in purchasing. I am hoping to launch a new website soon, and am on Facebook, if you would like to see more photos of recent work. Thank you for your interest. Cam
